Travel Essentials for the Adventurous Family

travel essentials

My little family of four has always been keen on traveling.  Our children are getting a little more manageable when traveling but at five and seven they still have their challenges.  WIth an upcoming trip to Maui, I have been doing some research on must have items to take with us.    Each are items we use and hopefully they will you help you when you plan for your next trip.

1. Crocs Women’s Brooklyn Buckle Low Wedge Sandal-

Nothing better than having comfortable shoes to do all of the sightseeing while on your trip.  Crocs have made quite thwe comeback and these slip on sandals are much easier on the eyes and come in multiple colors.  No need to worry about getting them wet as they are made from the same rubber material as the crocs we all know!

2. Coolife Suitcase Set 3 Piece Carry On Hardside Luggage with TSA Lock Spinner Wheels –

I have shared this luggage set on socials many times.  It is such an afforadable 3 piece set that has served me great on multiple trips!  The wheels spin so easily, it has an optional lock code and the duffel bag slides on to the luggage bar for easy towing.  Not to mention how upscale it looks.  Amazon always runs sales on this set and currently it is $89!

3. Bluetooth Wireless Audio Transmitter Receiver for AirPods or Wireless Headphones-

I don’t know about you but I only want to use my own audio device.  This adapter lets you hook into the planes audio so you can enjoy the on board movies wirelessly.  We even use it at home to watch movies with our Beats Headphones which gives you a movie theatre experience.

4. Beats Studio3 Wireless Noise Cancelling Over-Ear Headphones –

Speaking of headphones, Chad and I both got a pair of these probably 5 years ago and we have never regretted the purchase.  You have no idea how much audio details you are missing until you watch your movies with these.  They are comfortable and perfect to escape the noise of travel.

5. Water Bottle Spout Adapter for Kids, Babies, & Adults –

Our kids are getting older but they still tend to drink like babies putting all the backwash into water bottles.  Not to mention splling because they don’t screw the cap on.  These adapters fix that!  They fit on any water bottle or drink and make spills stop and storage easy.

6. Upgraded 3 in 2 USB C Cable for Apple Watch Charger iPhone Charger USB C Multi Fast Charging Cable –

In our household we still have an older version iPhone and a new version.  They take different charging cords so this cable is awesome for us all!  It also includes the charger for my iWatch which is perfect to charge on the go.

7. GoBe Kids Lunchbox with Detachable Snack Spinner + Hand Strap & Sticker Sheet, Reusable Bento Style Lunch Container –

Snacks are life when it comes to kids (adults as well!) and these larger takes on the snack spinner are perfect to bring a sandwich along as well.  My kids always fight eating and having multiple options and a fun spinning wheel makes eating more appealing to them so it is a win win.

8. Fanny Belt Bag Waist Pack Crossbody Bags –

I have never been one to carry a purse so this is perfect for me.  I can keep all of the tickets, phones and cash on me without having to hold something extra.  Tons of colors available.

9. Kids Tablet, 10 inch Tablet for Kids –

If you have a long car ride or a flight with no rest stops at your request, tablets in my opinion are a must.  We love to download games and a couple movies onto them so that interent is not required but they each have something to entertain them.  This way mom and dad can enjoy their own movie as well!

10. Goodbye, Things: The New Japanese Minimalism –

This may not be for everyone but a book is a perfect way to disconnect with our phones while on vacation.  I picked this one up because I am really loving the thought of decluttering and removing items from our lives.  Although this is the extreme version, I am hoping to get some tips from it.

11. Sunzel Womens Workout Leggings with High Waist Tummy Control –
I have tried many leggings, it pretty much is what I wear on the daily.  These have always been what I come back to, they are affordable, minimal to pack and stay put.  I love the side pockets especially for being on the go and you will be comfy during travel.  I love them so much I found them in the shorts version as well, linked below.

12. BLUE LIZARD Sensitive Mineral Sunscreen with Zinc Oxide, SPF 50+, Water Resistant, UVA/UVB Protection with Smart Bottle Technology – Fragrance Free –
With summer coming, warm, tropical destinations are flocked to.  Many of which you need to make sure you are using a Coral Reef safe sunscreen.  We use Blue Lizard on the kids and it works so well.
Quick-Dry Water Sports Barefoot Shoes Aqua Socks for Swim Beach Pool Surf Yoga for Women Men –

We love a good hike or snorkel adventure.  It is always a good idea to keep a pair of slim water shoes on hand.  These are super affordable and will protect your feet from the rocks you may encounter.

Get out there and travel!
Save for the trip and make it happen!
