12 DIY Projects That Prove Green Is the Perfect Color for Any Space

If you have followed along with my projects for a while, you have probably noticed one thing… I love green.

Green is one of those colors that somehow works everywhere. It can feel calm and earthy, bold and modern, or soft and vintage depending on the shade you choose.

Over the years I’ve used green in RVs, cabinetry, doors, furniture builds, gyms, and even outdoor spaces. So I thought it would be fun to round up some of my favorite projects where green was the star of the show.

If you’re looking for inspiration for your next build or renovation, these are 12 projects that prove green works just about anywhere.

1. Jade Epoxy Countertops in My Archie RV Renovation

One of the most unique uses of green in my projects was the jade epoxy countertops I created during my Archie RV renovation.

Epoxy countertops are a great way to get a custom look in a small space like an RV, and the jade tone added so much depth and character to the kitchen area.

The color mimics natural stone and adds a pop of color without overwhelming the space.

2. Turning My Front Door Into a Dutch Door

This project completely changed the look and functionality of my front entry.

I converted my standard front door into a Dutch door, which allows the top half to open independently from the bottom.

The real surprise here was the paint. I used spray paint in Laurel Green by Rust-Oleum and it turned out beautifully.

Sometimes the simplest products give the biggest transformation.

3. Custom Office Bookcases

When I built custom bookcases for our office, I wanted something that felt rich but still neutral enough to work with the rest of the house.

The color Pinelands by Benjamin Moore ended up being the perfect choice. It’s a deep earthy green that adds warmth and contrast to the room.

Built-ins instantly elevate a space, and this color made them feel custom and high-end.

4. Van Conversion Cabinets

In my van conversion, I built all the cabinetry myself and painted it Soft Fern by Benjamin Moore.

This soft green shade works incredibly well in small spaces like vans or RVs because it feels light and calming without being plain white.

It gave the entire space a fresh, nature-inspired look.

5. Outdoor Kitchen Cabinets

For my outdoor kitchen build, I actually used the same color as the van conversion because it worked so well in natural light.

Soft Fern by Benjamin Moore has just enough green to feel fresh while still blending beautifully with outdoor surroundings.

It’s proof that sometimes the best colors work across multiple projects.

6. Garage Gym Makeover

When I converted my garage into a gym, I wanted something bold and energizing.

That’s where Paradise Green by Benjamin Moore came in.

This brighter shade added energy to the space and made the gym feel fun instead of just another garage.

7. My Parents’ Home Gym Feature Wall

For my parents’ gym, I wanted something different from just painted walls.

I created a feature wall using faux greenery, paired with Luna Arc Green Tile from Tile Club on the adjacent wall above the Modern Console I built.

The combination of texture and color made the space feel modern and intentional.

8. Toy Hauler Cabinet Makeover

Toy haulers often come with pretty basic cabinetry, so I decided to give ours a bold refresh.

I painted the cabinets Jasper by Sherwin Williams which is a deep, rich green that instantly made the space feel more custom.

Dark green cabinetry is one of my favorite ways to add character without going too trendy.

9. My Workshop Cabinetry

When I built out the cabinetry in my workshop, I knew I wanted something strong but still interesting visually.

The color Alligator Alley by Benjamin Moore ended up being perfect.

It’s a bold green that feels industrial enough for a workshop but still stylish.

10. Terrazzo Tile Ice Chest Table

One of my favorite furniture builds was a terrazzo tile ice chest table, and I painted the base Seafoam Storm by Valspar.

This soft minty green added a fun, retro feel that paired perfectly with the terrazzo tile top.

It’s a great example of how even smaller DIY builds can be elevated with the right paint color.

• modern and stylish

Depending on the shade you choose, green can work in kitchens, cabinets, furniture builds, outdoor spaces, and even RV renovations.

Final Thoughts

Looking back at these projects, it’s pretty clear that green has become a staple in my builds.

Whether it’s deep cabinet colors, soft sage tones, or bold statement walls, it always seems to add the perfect amount of character.
